Steven Flint -- As a member of the New York State Guides Association (NYSOGA) I know what it takes to provide exemplary service to the sporting angler. So nice to take a sanity break and have William provide me two wonderful trips on the Androscoggin River. Terrific smallmouth bass fishing, equally terrific fellowship.
Bill Cope - I have fished with Will for the last three years during the first week of August. I fish with a fly rod exclusively, typically sliders and streamers against the bank, so boat control and distance from the bank are critical. Will has proven to be very accomodating and expert at handling the raft. I often think I'll keep count of how many fish are caught but usually lose count by mid morning. I do keep some track of the larger fish and usually manage 3-6 fish of 18" or better during an average day - and on top no less. The Androscoggin is a prolific fishery with some 85% of the bass's food estimated to be crayfish. That really does not explain their affinity for sneaky pete's on top. But that is a smallmouth for you. I like the opportunity to get out and wet wade fish in the shallows as well. I provides a great opportunity to stretch the legs during the course of the day.
